A Sacred Pilgrimage Site

Vishnupad Temple - The Sacred Land of Moksha

The Vishnupad Temple in Gaya Ji enshrines the sacred footprint of Lord Vishnu. It is believed that worshipping this Vishnu Charan and performing Pind Daan here grants ancestors moksha (liberation) and a peaceful afterlife. According to legend, Lord Vishnu granted the devotee Gayasur a boon that anyone performing Shradh rites on this land - his very body - would surely secure moksha for their ancestors. This is why Gaya Ji is called the "Moksha-Bhoomi", the land of liberation.

On this same sacred land, on the banks of the Falgu river, the Goswami family has been performing Pind Daan and Shradh Karma for Yajmans according to scriptural rites for generations. The Falgu river is itself considered a sacred tirtha, and Pind Daan performed beneath the nearby Akshaya Vat (the eternal banyan tree) is believed to yield "Akshaya" - imperishable - results.
